The Blessed Virgin of Mt. Carmel has promised to save those who wear the Brown Scapular, from the fires of Hell; She will also shorten their stay in Purgatory if they should pass from this world still owing some temporal debt of punishment. Scapulars have embroidered or stamped representations. There are almost a score of such scapulars, each attached to a particular third order or confraternity. The scapular gives the wearer a share in the merits and good works of the particular group of which it is a badge. The wearer should be invested in the scapular by religious authority. It must be worn as described. If set aside for any period, the spiritual benefits cease during that time. Brown Scapulars*: The Brown Scapular, given to St. Simon Stock. Remember, the Brown Scapular is made of 100% wool, and is the only scapular that can have any religious picture on it and still be a Brown Scapular from Mount Carmel. Most of the pictures on the Brown Scapular have been touched to a 1st class relic, therefore, they are 3rd class relics. Our Scapulars include the St. Benedict Medal and a crucifix. |
